Flying through the Rainforest!

Our aerial trek this afternoon couldn’t have been more wonderful! We broke into 2 groups and had 2 sets of amazing guides – Jose & George, and Marcus & Cesar. Every student was a trooper, listening carefully and overcoming any misgivings to try it. Even as a sudden rainstorm drenched us, this group of optimists decided to be grateful for the cooling off and for a little additional speed on the zip line.

Enthusiastic hoots could be heard throughout the rainforest (the hooting made it more fun, I have been told) as we launched ourselves off of platforms built around trees at 50 – 80 feet above the forest floor and flew among the flora. I have a few pictures here and uploaded some video Darby took to youtube – it may take a while to process but you should be able to access it by clicking on the link to the right! (you may have to turn your head, as she shot it sideways while holding on for dear life...)

The group is wandering around at the river or up in the crystal cave behind the hotel, exploring some more and awaiting dinner. Tomorrow – cave tubing!!
